Book Review | Barack Obama - Dreams From My father | A Story Of Race & Inheritance

As Super Sunday approaches and I try to separate empty promises and strategic moves from real, actual thoughts and goals, I couldn’t have read a better book than Dreams From My Father.

Well, I, on the other hand, found it a completely absorbing read. It's well-written and an interesting story. I wish everyone could read it; there are so many misunderstandings about Barack's life. While I'm sure there are parts that have been changed, dramatized, shifted around, the theme behind the events that Barack chronicles is evident. It's the story of a boy trying to comprehend who he is, to reconcile with the fact that he looks undeniably different than his mother and grandparents, to cope with the mysterious, absent figure that is his father.

The book provides a better understanding of not only Barack Obama's life, but a greater understanding of who Barack Obama is and why he is the way he is. This book, of course, only presents one side of who Barack Obama is - and the side that Obama presents himself. So, as with all autobiographies, I took it with a grain of salt. But after reading it, I had a much greater respect for him... he worked for years as a community organizer, and it wasn't until I read his book that I realized how hard that work was.

The book follows Barack through his childhood in Hawaii and Indonesia, his community work in Chicago, and his journey to meet his father’s family in Kenya. Along the way, he has to come to terms with the death of his absent father, being raised primarily by his white grandparents (you don’t hear about this much), and learning the ropes of being a community organizer in inner city Chicago.

The thing that amazed me most about the book was watching Obama:

 1) work through problems and

2) analyze both sides on an issue. These two traits came through in two different ways in the book: in personal situations (how he comes to understand and accept his troubled father and his Kenyan ancestry) and in political situations (how he comes to understand the long-standing and deep problems facing the urban poor).

It would have been very, very easy to have bad guys in this book. Evil high-up government officials who prevent community centers and jobs from reaching the impoverished in Chicago. His adulterous and alcoholic father who seemed to abandon his loved ones at every turn. But Barack thinks his way through these simple binary good/bad categories and goes far beyond them. He is constantly striving to 1) understand situations from all points of view and 2) think his way through to a solution. He has an uncanny ability to step away from the emotions of a problem and then systematically chip away at it. He understands very well that you have to know why things are as they are before you develop a plan about how to fix it.

The best example of this might be his work in Chicago. Although it’s unheard of for anyone to criticize the black ministers who organize the urban black communities in Chicago, Obama quickly began to understand the huge problems that come with church-based activism in black communities. Churches would rarely work together to solve larger problems and ministers would rarely do more than preach (which, to be fair, is their job). The action that should have followed a sermon simply wasn’t organized. Because many black leaders were ministers, many black leaders were also, essentially, just talk. What followed was three years of work in which Obama not only made major, innovative steps in Chicago but in which he also learned how to inspire both individuals and small groups into action.

I was also impressed by what Barack Obama didn’t leave out of the book. He made a lot of mistakes, he deals with a lot of anger, and he doesn’t succeed at everything. Still, you can not only see him learning from his mistakes, but immediately applying those lessons to his next challenge.

The book, as a more general read, was good as well. The writing wasn’t stellar (something Obama is quick to point out in the forward to the reprint) but it was still much better than one might expect from someone who isn’t primarily a writer. Getting to see the inner struggle of a biracial person growing up in 60s and 70s America was also really fascinating.

There are a lot of great candidates in the upcoming election, and I feel positive about more than two of them. But especially after reading this book, my doubts about Obama’s lack of experience are gone. He has something that trumps years in Washington: a stellar judgment and an almost eerie ability to put himself in someone else’s shoes and understand both sides of an issue. More than that, his ability to inspire individuals to action is something that America could truly benefit from. You can even see it in his campaign: ordinary people stepping up and acting, even if they’ve never been involved in politics before.

Barack Obama has led a life no one else could really understand, but everyone can relate to in some capacity. I know one of the arguments against him as president is that he doesn't have a lot of experience in office, but after reading this book, one might argue that he has plenty of experience in far more important areas that would serve him better if he were elected again for USA.

He is nothing less than inspiring..

Review Of Book Mother Teresa Written By Navin chawla | Must read the Saint mother Teresa's life story which you have never heard of before.

Mother is the other name of sacrifices, and she is known for the intense love she had for the poorest of the poor. Mother was awarded by thousands of awards. She was the first person who was not born in India, yet got India's most prestigious award, the Bharat Ratna and also the Padma Shri award.

Mother Teresa, a symbol of love, care and humanity, is known for her hard work that she did for the mankind. She was one of the most powerful woman in the world in her epoch, who had started to follow her passion at the age of just 12. She left her entire happy family at an early age.

She was the unique example of focus and determination and her love for Christ. She had started her mission for poor without having a single penny, and yet she succeeded to start her multinational missionary for homeless, poorest of the poor people who had been unwanted, who were suffering from TB, Leprosy, physically disabled.

At her early stage, Mother even had begged from others, not for herself, but for the sufferers. I felt so blessed that I got to read this book. She was such a humble personality. Everyone talks about only his or her country but Mother used to talk about the whole world. She was concerned about each and every person in the whole universe. She used to say that she would have even gone to the moon if she would find any poor there as well. This was the kind of focus and dedication she used to have.

Phase-1st:

The book is written by Navin Chawla and it is considered the most accurate biography of Mother Teresa. The author used to closely know Mother for 23 years. He spent 5 years for research on her life, especially in her work. Author was very clear about Mother’s life mission and principal and that is the reason he wrote this book so precisely.

This is the biography of world’s most admired women. The book starts with the childhood chapter of mother, which is known to very few people. She was from Skopje which became a part of Yugoslavia. Her family was townsmen engaged in business. Her father, Nicholas Bojaxhiu, was a building contractor. Her father was a member of town council who never used to refuse poor. She always used to describe that her family was a joyful one and very closely united, especially after her father’s death. She was very close to her mother and described her mother as very holy.

She was only seven when her father passed away leaving his widow and three children. She further explained how her mother started a small business to take care of her children. Her mother taught her to love God and to love neighbor. The Church became an important part of the family’s life. Mother and her sister began to participate in a number of parish activities. She used to visit the church library very frequently as she loved books.

Now the time came when at the age of only 12, she felt the desire to become a nun, and it was natural for her mother to oppose at first because mother was after all a 12 years child. Her family came to a contact of Father Jambrenkovic, who had started a society called Sodality, where mother came to know about Calcutta(now Kolkata).

Meanwhile, she started giving religious instruction to children and grew to love teaching. After 6 years, when mother was eighteen, she decided to leave her family and loved ones behind and become a missionary. Mother Teresa, then applied to the Loreto order in West Bengal, India. On 26th September 1928, she said good bye to her mother, her siblings, her relatives and friends of the Sodality Society. This was the last time that she saw her mother.

Phase-2nd:

On 6th January 1929 she came to her destination Calcutta. On 16th January she was sent to Darjeeling (400 miles from Calcutta), where she finally began her life as a novice. She began to learn Bengali and on August 1931 she took her first vow.

Her novitiate completed and from then people used to call her as "Mother Teresa". She was sent to Loreto in the Calcutta. She remained there happily for seventeen years, first as a teacher and then as a principal.

In 1946 she decided to leave Loreto and serve the poor people. According to her, it was a direct communication from god. She made her first sacrifice when she left her family and her mother and now she made another sacrifice perhaps as big as the first, when she left Loreto. She had to take permissions from the Vatican itself so that she could be able to help the poors directly.

After so many conversations over letters and telegrams, she got the permission letter from Vatican in 1948 and that was the first time that she wore white and blue border saree. She had undertaken few months in nursing, dispensary and hospitals where she learnt to administer injections and to prescribe medicines.

She started her first work for slum in Motijhil in Calcutta. There were no schools, no dispensaries and sewage flowed into open drains. When she started her mission, she was all alone with no money, no support. She requested the slum people to send their children to her for schooling and on her second day she found 5 children waiting for her but there were no buildings, no class rooms, and she didn't have money to even buy a black board, so she started teaching them under a tree.

She took stick as a marker and ground as a board. Initially, she started to beg and during that phase she did not receive blessings, but got first class abuse. Very soon, in spite of these many struggles, she finally started Shishu bhavan(school for poor children) for unwanted children, Nirmal Hriday, dispensaries(places for leprosies). Her missionary started growing worldwide.

 Phase-3rd:

After all her efforts, she saved thousands of children, patients, women, adopted so many unwanted children and gradually she became the most powerful woman yet unaffected. The president of India, the President of the United States and her friend Jyoti Basu(chief minister of West Bengal at that time), used to send her telegrams. King and queen of Belgium went specially to see her.

She got many prestigious awards like Padma Shree, Bharat Ratna, Nobel Prize and many more. With 4000 plus nuns, she created a multinational enterprise which gives free services to the poorest of the poor.

By the time she died in 1997, her mission had established 594 houses in 120 countries. Immediately after her death, there was world wide clamor for her to be declared a saint.

For the very first time dispensation from the rule of waiting for the mandatory five years after death, for the process of enquiry and investigation began, and this was the fastest case of canonization in recent centuries. This is how she entered into the world of sainthood and world will always remember this Saint.

Review Of Book Mother Teresa:

All the Nobel things she has done but people still questions that is Mother Teresa a saint?

I would just say if mother Teresa is not saint then no one could be a saint.

I am really thankful to Navin Chawla who wrote Mother Teresa Biography and because of him I am able to know so much about  mother.

Things I liked about this book:

The excellent research work done by author about her life. In fact the most detailed version.
He has presented all the sides, he has also discussed the criticism about Mother Teresa and also presented Mother’s stand on those criticisms.

So many old and rare photographs and letters of mother are also there in the book.
Book focuses on the mother’s struggle, determination and the great work done by her.

Things I disliked about this book:

There are few repetitions at the end of the book which could had been easily removed.
There were few misprinting in it but those could be neglected.

Purpose to read this book:

My purpose was very clear that I wanted to closely see the world’s most selfless person’s life, her struggle and her determination to make the impossible thing possible. If you really wish the same then do read this book.

In this summary of Who Will Cry When You Die? by Robin Sharma,In this book summary you’ll learn:

what the Romans thought about exercise;
how to make your commute more productive; and
precisely how many more hours you’ll live because of exercise.

It is the Robin’s first book that I have read, and I must say that I have fallen in love with his ideas and the way of life. The book is full of teaching about “the right way to lead a good life”. The book represents the content to us in a list like format, rather than depicting it in a story format or in a complicated manner. It is easy to understand, simple but more powr-ful. It is like Check-List, to make an interesting read.

I think this is the best book I have ever read. In a way it gives so many good advices. After reading and also while reading this book I pulled myself together and became more and more interested. It inspired me to wake up earlier in the mornings, to think more positive, etc. While reading this book, I wrote down some notes, and after finishing reading this book, I continued to read my notes over and over again. I really recommend this book if you need a little push to make some things change in yourself-because it has this amazing power to make you change.

It really makes me think a lot after reading this book. It is just like asking me whether am I living my life for some purpose and doing the right thing. It really helps me to understand the views in the future. Opens your mind! It helps to understand the differences between surviving, staying and living.

Some of the important points I learnt and follow from the book are :

• Be more than your moods. Your success range should never depend on your mood.
• Carry a goal card. Write your goals on some cards and always carry in your shirt pocket. Keep them literally close to your heart. It really helps you in achieving them faster.
• Stop Complaining. Start Living. Add value to yourself and to your society.
• Enjoy the path, not just reward. Write a legacy statement, which would be read by the next generations.
• Honor your past. Treat your troubles as blessings.
• Reading a book is a good habit. Reading good books is a better habit.
The book is all about living the life meaningfully. It gives advice that would surely give one a new way of approaching life. It contains a great many lessons for us all to practice in life. It mainly focuses on how to lead a prosperous life. It reminds what we are losing in our life. Each lesson is a lesson for life. It teaches us to start enjoying for all the things, even though they are small things in life.

After going through the entire 101 lessons, I got inspired to start living in a different and a better way. All 101 lessons hold equal significance in our day to day life though, especially ‘Learn to say No Gracefully’, ‘Learn to be Silent’, ‘Focus on the Worthy’, ‘Always carry a Book with you’ and more. Another point , which I liked very much in this book, is one I have been practicing for some time; I actually started practicing a few of them to start with, so there will be balance, effectiveness in my daily lives. There is no doubt in that.

It gives solutions to some questions….

Book Review Of Shashi Tharoor: Why I Am A Hindu? | Must Read a Book tell us difference the between Hinduism and Hindutva

Hello Everyone,
Today I'm going to talk about the person who himself a genius and need not to introduce. A single man with lots of work.,Dr. Shashi Tharoor is an Indian Politician, writer, speaker and former International Diplomat..Shashi Tharoor is serving as a Member of Parliament from Thiruvanantpuram, Kerala since 2009.

BJP Built The Most Extraordinary Personality Cult Around Modi ...

Dr. Shashi Tharoor is an eloquent speaker and has participated in many debated across all over the countries, As well as he has written about 18 books till now. And Among 18, I'll talk about "Why I Am A Hindu?"

Buy Why I Am a Hindu Book Online at Low Prices in India | Why I Am ...

So basically this book is divided into Three Parts:
(i)My Hinduism
(ii)Political Hinduism
(iii)Taking Back Hinduism

Ganga Aarti Haridwar | Ganga Aarti timings, photos, address

Firstly, Dr. Tharoor describes that he written this book for two main reasons. The first was to try and understand for himself, and for whoever else was interested, the extraordinary faith wisdom and virtues of faith he has lived for over six decades, a faith that he has tried to absorb through beliefs and practices handed down to him by his Father and others, his own observations, as well as an-extensive reading of the scriptures in translation and numerous scholarly treatise.

The second reason he wrote this book to show that the intolerant and often violent forms of Hindutva that began to impose themselves on the public consciousness of Indians in the 1980s went against the spirit of Hinduism, that most plural, inclusive, eclectic and expansive of faiths.

The Book is telling the actual difference between Hinduism And Hindutva. The Concerns in the book is actually for those who knows Dr. tharoor's writing, have been around for quite sometime the Great Indian Novel now 31 years old and its concerned the Dharma was explicit in his novel write and he spokes about some detail about Hindu-Muslim violence and accompanied the Ramshila-Pujan and so on before the rise of RamJanma Bhoomi movement.

Dr. Tharoor's alluded to his own Hinduism, Five years after the destruction of Babri Masjid. These are all concerns that he has expressed in different ways in both fiction and Non-Fiction in his writing.
According to Dr. Tharoor, If we look at Hinduism as a faith and then look at Hindutva, the later it is politically Ideology that is essentially is well described as a religion.

Somehow, on the backs of Hindutva Political Ideology, one is found whole bunch of people arrogating them to themselves, the rights to tell of others and there he thoughts to fight backs and push back to against it. And the useful things an an intellectual exercise was to do so within the faith because it suits the interest of Hindutva brigade to portray this fundamental argument as being one between Hindus and Godless secularist. Well Infact there is a more fundamental argument between Hinduism itself which he described in faith (Tharoor's faith)  and Dr. Tharoor has his own views and it is not the view of Hindutva Brigade.

This book contains many lines which is from Rig vedas and Bhagwat Geeta and some sloks in Sanskrit which also translated into English as well. The book start with great souls of Hinduism and the lecture of Swami Vivekanand and Adi Shankara was not merely a philosophical thinker who reconciled the doctrines and traditions of the ancients with a robust interpretation for the future.

Book also describing how both Jainism and Buddhism is related to Hinduism and how it become the form of Hinduism. And also book is railing the condition of India at the time of Muslim invaders like Chengiz khan, Mahumud of Ghazni and Mohd. Ghori , they all looted the temple like Somnath temple, Virandavan Shri-Krishna Janm Bhumi temple and abducted many Hindu women's.

The impact of Muslim invasions, and the proclivity of some Muslims warlords to attack temple for their treasures and demolish them in the process, as well as the inclination of some conquered people to adopt the religion of their conqueror, made the needs for renewal and revivcal of Hidu faith all the more urgent after the 11th century, when Ghazni's success had rung the alarm bells.

Whereas book also containing the bhakti movement of the people of different religion like Ramanuja, Kabir Das, Tulsi Das, Mira Bai, Lalleshwari(Lalla Rukh) and Blind Surdas. Here Dr. Tharoor tries to explained us that if we had trust in God then he'll never let us fail.
As Mirabai has immense believe in God Krishna her husband tried to poision her, but miraculously the poision turned into honey as she drank it, and she danced in ecstasy before her adored lord. As one of her hymns declares with the sense of abandonment ans ecstatic devotion for which she is known: Tying anklets upon her feet, Mira dances in Ecstasy. People say Mira has gone mad.
Her Mother-in-law says she disgraced the clan, The Rana(Mirabai's Husband) sent her a cup of poison, which Mira laughingly, drank. And nothing happened to her. This is belief, this is faith..

The Book also deals with the thoughts of Raja Ram Mohan Roy, who founded the Brahmo-Samaj and after him a dynamic Hindu sage, Swami Dayanand Saraswati established the Arya-Samaj.

Hinduism not just a religion, but the very way of life worth emulating. Briefly delving on the probable origins of Hinduism, the challenges it faced all along its many millennia-old existence, the ways in which it overcame those challenges and the innumerable saints and holy personae that stand as shining beacons for all the virtues that Hinduism is all about. Ironically, Mr. Tharoor makes you feel proud about being Hindu, more than all the antics and assertions of the so-called saviors of the ‘Hindutva’ brigade.

I loved the first part of the book. It is well researched and various references quoted really brought out my beliefs in a new light, the way I was taught about them and how it seemed to be confided in today.
The basic quality of the book is that it maintained its neutralism without taking sides. Hinduism could be talked more as a culture than as a religion is a conclusion I reach as I flipped pages ahead.
Freedom of belief and excising faith is duly a personal call and contributing factors could be the land you are born in and the household you are brought up but how you approach to the divine is a connection and a journey taken by you.
I could resonate with most of the thoughts presented in the book and also could appreciate many of the references made of different beliefs.

Whereas, the second part of the book are used by politician Shashi Tharoor, who uses it as a canvas to paint a poor – many times, correctly so – picture about his political opponents, especially those belonging to the Hindutva brigade. Starting from the patriarchs of RSS, Golwalkar and Savarkar, who used hatred for another religion to fuel the passion for their own, touching upon the somewhat sensible life of Deen Dayal Upadhyay, to the present day leaders of BJP, who rode upon paranoia and hatred of a huge scale to attain their political gains, Shashi Tharoor has ‘immortalized’ everyone with his systematic arguments against their narrow ideologies, setting them against the all-encompassing backdrop of Hinduism.

As he strongly condemned BJP in his book and told that BJP's priciples is provoking and evoking the people in the wrong way. As he mentioned the riots of Gujarat (2002), after that riots BJP's then Prime Minister Atal Vihari Vajpayee was going to ask a resignation from Narendra Modi, but due to Sangh, he didn't found himself able to do so..And Narendra Modi got another chance in 2007 and 2012 in Giujarat and he became the Chief Minister of Gujarat with full majority.. And Later on he played the trump card of Hindutva for 2014 lok-sabha election and Modi-wave came and all India supported BJP and first time in a history of lok-sabha a ruling party has no muslim MP's in a parliament.

Dr. Sahshi Tharoor also condemning the thoughts of Yogi Adityanath and described him thinking as a small and fallen. As Yogi Adityanath made Anti-Romeo squad and called Taj-Mahal against the Hindu-Civilization.

What it is hard to believe is that people claiming to be abiding by the values of a religion fail to realize the lines between segments of their beliefs toe in with secularist, to not be allied with any particular religion or spiritual matters.

Overall, it is good to see the big picture of both sides and get different perspectives about how one can perceive Hinduism and Hindutva. Also, one can put distinction to a Hindu Communist and a Hindu who is also a Communist.

Conclusion :

*As a Hindu, I can say when people tell me 'Garv Se Kaho Ki Tum Hindu Ho' that I am proud to be Hindu, but in what is it that we are to take pride? I take pride in the openness, the diversity, the range, the lofty metaphysical aspirations of the Vedanta; of the various ways in which Hinduism is practised, eclectically, and of its extraordinary acceptance of differences.

*I am a Hindu , and I am Nationalist, bit I am not a Hindu nationalist. My nationalism is unquestioningly, all-embracingly, Indian.

*Survival is the best revenge, rather than reprisal; undoing the wrongs in different era through new wrongs in a different context only compound the original sins.

*The Hinduism that I know understands that faith is a matter of hearts and minds, not bricks and stones. "Build Ram in your hearts" is what Hinduism has always enjoined: If Ram is in your heart, it would matter very little where else He is, or is not.

*I feel that it is alright to think that Hinduism as a way of life is great but it’s not alright to think that only Hinduism ‘as we understand it’ is superior to any other way of life. It is very important now, more than it ever was, to disconnect Hindutva, the political ideology, from Hinduism, which is a way of life.

So here we finished the review of Shashi Taroor's book (Why I Am a Hindu)..I hope it will help you to know the difference between Hindutva and Hinduism.

REVIEW of Dr. Kalam's Book : My Journey- Transforming Dreams Into Action|The Missile Man| The people's President

Hi,
There are so many people in the world, some of them become great by their actions, principles and discipline. It took a time a time to become a great person and for that you have to make constant efforts like APJ Abdul Kalam did. Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, not only having a long name but also a long legacy.

Today I'm going to make reviews on his written book (My journey-Transforming Dreams Into Action). Which is written by himself Dr. Kalam.
I'm gonna tell you, his life in details after reading book (My journey), Which extremely impressed me a lot..

*Initially Dr. Kalam tells us about him in first page, which stated as..He was born on 15 October, 1931 at Rameswaram. Born in Tamil-Muslim family, who barely had two meals a day. Dr. Kalam's father was an Imam at Rameswaram Mosque and he also had a boat  which took the Hindu people back from Rameswaram to Dhanuskoti and Dhanuskoti to Rameswarm. And his mother Ashiamma was a house wife.

* As born in Muslim Family, his father gave him all rites and sent him school to study. He also mentioned that as Ramnathswamy temple was only few steps away from his home and the priest of Ramnathswamy temple, Pakshi Lakshmana Sastry was not only the priest of that temple was also has very deep knowledge about his Vedic Culture, his father and Sastry ji was a good friend

*Kalam also has a deep knowledge of Koran,Vedas, Gita, Holy Bible..He reads all of these and you'll find some shlokas and verses in his book which is written in Gita, Bible and Koran. As he was a true secular.

* Dr. Kalam describe one incident that took place in his childhood when he was in third standards at the age of 8. His best friends Ramanadhan Shastry , Aravindan and Sivaprakasan. All of them were Brahmin's , In fact Ramanadhan was the son of Shastry ji. They all live together during the all time of school and sit together on one bench in front row.

One day, they all were very curious about their new teacher in school. And when the teacher came, he saw a in front row one-muslim boy with his skull cap on his head sitting with some brahmin's  boy.
At that very moment Kalam was asked to leave that seat and go back to last row. At that time Kalam and his best Ramanadhan both cried whole day and told their father's about what teacher did to them?

*Immediately their parents visits to school and condemned the incident harshly in front of whole school and asked the teacher "how did you become a teacher? A man who discriminating the society, how can he become a teacher? Then finally teacher realizes his mistakes and apologize for what he had done to their child.

A.P.J. Abdul Kalam: Biography, Books, Quotes and Awards

*In his book Kalam wrote that his father used to wake up at 4 am. When all people sleeps my father wakes up at 4 and go to his morning walk and take a look to mosque, because he was very devote and sharing immense faith in God.

*One Incident that Dr. Kalam wrote in his auto-biography and which is very close and touched my heart was "On one night when Kalam was hungry and he asked for food to his mother and his mother made a chapatti and he ate all chapatties and nothing left for her mother to eat, and then his elder brother scolded on him and said (you have eaten all chapatties and that's why our mother having nothing to eat and tonight she'll go hungry) then Kalam realizes that "a mother is the one who can give everything to her child without thinking for a moment." That night Kalam was full of guilt and he feels the shame to face his mother.

*When Kalam was 8 years old he did the job of selling Newspaper, as his family condition was not well enough to survive. For further studies Dr. Kalam went to Ramnathpuram and got admission in Schwartz Higher Secondary School. For a first time Kalam goes outside of Raeswaram. And over their he completed his Higher Secondary level Education.

*For further education Dr. Kalam went to Madras Institute Of Technology(MIT) to pursue the education in Engineering. To get admission in MIT he needs the sum of 600 rupees at that time, but as his family condition was not such as he could ask for money from the family.

Madras Institute Of Technology

* Then his sister Zohra arranged the money for him by mortgaging her jewelry and give him money to get admission at MIT. At that time Kalam stated  "Nobody in the world has ever done such a selfless thing for me" that directly touches the heart of mine.

*In this book Kalam also mentioned about his two mentors- Ahmed Jalalludin & Dr. Vikram Sarabhai.

As Jalalludin was his brother-in-law who always motivates him towards study and gives him some remarkable lesson for his life. When Kalam was leaving for USA for six months training programme at NASA. Dr. Vikram Srarabhai was his second mentor of his life. Kalam met him first at when he was called for interview by INCOSPAR for the position of Rocket Engineer. Kalam was interviewed by Dr. Sarabhai, who was deputy secretary of the Atomic Energy Commission. This interview set the tone for Kalam's future relationship with Dr. Sarabhai. Kalam stated that "Dr. Sarabhai was  a legend and has the quality of leadership and he was able to see and pick the potential of youth and give them his guidance. Inside Kalam feels that there is a man who was not recruiting just an Engineer, rather he was looking for kalam's potential and investing his time and career in him."

*Kalam wrote about his failures too. As he wants to join Indian Airforce and for that he gave an interview at Dehradun and not selected as their was only 8 places were vacant and Kalam got 9th position. After facing disappointment Kalam was very upset and don't want to live in his hotel room, so he decided to go outside for a walk and he reached to the edge of cliff over there he decided to go to Rishikesh.
In Rishikesh , he took a dip in Ganga  and after that he visited to Sivananada Ashram that was locted little way up a hill. As Kalam entered in ashram he saw all sages and monks were seated all around and some in deep meditation.

*Kalam mentioned that His being Muslim doesn't affect those sages and monks and he gets all his answers of worries by sivananda himself. Sivananda explained- "Accept your destiny and go ahead with your life, You are not destined to become an Airforce pilot. What you are destined to become is not revealed now but it is predetermined. Forget this failure, as it was essential to lead you to your destined path. Search instead for the true purpose of your existence.."

Be quenched in Reason,s night,
Till weakness turn to might,
